What is Fascia?

Fascia is the soft tissue component of the connective tissue system that permeates the human body. It forms a whole-body continuous three-dimensional matrix of structural support. Fascia interpenetrates and surrounds all organs, muscles, bones and nerve fibers, creating a unique environment for body systems functioning. The scope of our definition of and interest in fascia extends to all fibrous connective tissues, including aponeuroses, ligaments, tendons, retinaculae, joint capsules, organ and vessel tunics, the epineurium, the meninges, the periostea, and all the endomysial and intermuscular fibers of the myofasciae.

    1. Feeling of extreme relaxation and calmness directly after our session (almost as if I was high).
    2. A light sense of detoxification (i.e. a little nausea and a mild headache) about an hour or so after our session (I loved this, as I know it was validation for what you did during the session.   • "A dancer's life is often quite short. Meaning  one who regularly taxes their body will inevitably come to a point when they no longer thrive with such intense overexertion. The same holds true for any professional athlete or person who does not honor their anatomy and body mechanics from a very young age.

    With that being said there are several modalities of healing to help overcome chronic pain. I am one of those people who has tried nearly every modality under the sun. I am also one of those people who loves massages and body work! So, although FST is not massage I did feel the same post massage glow and sense of relaxation after working with Sharon. It amazes me how such a light touch can have such a huge impact. I was a bit sore and fatigued later that day and the next. But all in a good way that made me feel like my body was functioning properly and all systems were flowing in harmony. I highly recommend utilizing this type of bodywork to overcome chronic and acute pain in the body."
